Poster:

Save Toner. Use Laser

I did this after many tries. ive been thinking of doing a ‘save’ poster such as save the child. divorce aint the only way out. save the intelligence. save water. save sissy.

eventually i chose this as it is a simple and straighforward message to bring across, im trying to sell laser printer rather than inkjet printer. Laser printer prints in volume, with its given bigger memory capacity and also, it prints in approx 16ppm, much faster than an inkjet. Moreover, it is more cost saving to buy laser printer, as the refill allows a lot more number of print outs. Thus the tagline: Save Toner. Use Laser.

ps: Toner is aka ink cartridge for inkjet printer. As toner is often used in laser printers, here, save toner means to reach out and use toner, {hidden message: save toner from ink cartridge} thus use laser printer. The white portion between the tag and picture, is part of the paper, to indicate that the printing aint clear, so nothing is captured on the top part of the paper.

PR: One aint sure why i chose this phrase, suggests that i could add in a sub text. another suggests that i shift the phrase down,so as to reduce the awkardness reflected by the white portion.

Indeed,  this is quite a disappointing one, as my brain was fried…aik. construction for betterment..in progress.

The above two editions a progression afterPR.I change the message to Save time save cost save more. Use laser printer. this is MORE direct and comprehensible.

for the one above, i desaturated the picture, to paint a duller and flat pic so as to portray the poor functional aspects if u dont use laser printer to print.

Whereas, for the one below i increased the saturation and less gamma and exposure so as to hide the face, from attention and also to seek attention as one may go nearer to the poster to look at this ‘headless’ body.

finally, I choose to present in two different color styles so as to grab different attention and convey the subtle message, that laser printer will provide you a better cost saving solution, without such unclear and ‘flat’ picture. Moreover, in order to capture the idea, i choose to use more vibrant and colorful words to draw attention too.
